I Am Sorrow

You always blame me,

Call me the start of depression,

Though if you look closely,

I am your own creation.

You might despise me, hate me,

Often, I am misunderstood,

For it is because of me,

The meaning of happiness is understood.

Why do I come at all?

Is a question yourself you must ask,

Expectations aplenty or faith too little,

Or maybe, emotions hiding behind a mask.

Seasons change, people change,

The sun that rises, soon will set,

Then happiness will last forever,

Why do you expect?

But, like all other emotions,

I too will go away,

You must understand the fact,

That I’m not here to stay.

While I’m here, don’t resist me,

Embrace me as one of your own,

Go out, meet people, talk to them,

I maybe, but you are never alone.

Then one day the time will come,

For me to bid adieu and retreat,

But, somewhere down the line my friend,

Be sure, again we shall meet.

  1. Such a deep insight.. that sorrow needs to be embraced as much as joy, because we wouldn't value joy as much otherwise.. very well penned!
