The Search
My life was directionless, Like a boat drifting aimlessly, Across the vast sea of time, In search of the elusive shore, That I long left behind. I called out, as loudly as I could, Hoping beyond hope, For You to dispel the darkness, And carry me in Your arms, To where I desire to be. Soon I realised, it wasn’t the way, So quietly I closed my eyes, And searched for You inside, A brilliant flash lit up my consciousness, In that moment, I found my bearing. I felt Your hand on my shoulder, As I toiled with faith in my heart, Favourable winds found me too, Carrying me to the shore of peace, Where I always longed to be.
