Hate is a Monster
Hate is ravaging monster,
All in its path it surely does devour,
Where it is, might not concern you today,
But it’s coming, that’s needless to say.
It burns a distant land, why must we fret?
Because tomorrow it’ll be at your doorstep,
Today it consumes a stranger at world’s end,
Tomorrow it could be your family or friend.
Stop, is a word this monster hasn’t known,
No mercy to its victims has it ever shown,
Women, children, men young and old,
Oh! How many times the story’s been retold.
Jealousy and greed in the hearts of men,
Feeds the monster, to repeat the story again,
Like a raging wild fire in a dry forest,
Until it has consumed all, it will not rest.
Mindless wars waged here and there,
Alas, death and destruction, everywhere,
Can we stand together and do something?
Or will we succumb to this nasty evil thing?
Kindness and love are against it a shield,
Powers, which each one of us can wield,
To unite against this monster we must vow,
Before it’s too late, we must act right here right now.
