Daily Motivation - story 4 - Courage
In a small village lived some children who loved going to a newly opened school just outside the village. They would merrily walk to school and back home. Their route took them through some farmlands and some forests.
Along their route, in a small Hut lived an old man who loved to see the kids going to school. He was sure that proper education would be the path to success for these children. To encourage them he would often give them some sweets to eat when they were on their way back home. While all the kids sat in a group to enjoy their delicacies one would prefer to sit alone and have.
One day as he was seated under a tree, he got surrounded by a troop of monkeys. They rushed down grabbed the sweets and dashed off into the trees. For the next few days this episode repeated itself. The desperate boy tried to different things like sitting under a different tree or trying to run away as soon as he saw the monkeys, but all in vain. The more he tried to run away or avoid, the more easily they caught him.
The old man on noticed this. The next day he gave the boy his sweets and a stick. He told him "Don't run son. Take this stick and face them. If you stand up against them, in all likelihood they will not trouble you again". True to what the old man said when the boy stood his ground with courage, armed with the stick, the monkeys all scattered and never bothered him again.
Most of our problems in life are similar. We tend to run away from them, hide or even avoid them when the only solution is to face the situations head on. If we have belief and Courage in our heart and are ready to stand up and face our troubles, most of them would either be solved, or get diminished and some may just disappear like the troop of monkeys.
