Shift to Positive Mindset
If only we could appreciate as easily as we criticise.
Observation of people and situations around have forced me to believe that we are living in a society where we have probably become very negative. Whether it's trying something new, encouraging someone or appreciating someone, we are too apprehensive. What is funny though is that to give out something negative, like scolding someone, pointing out their faults or discouraging from trying something, we don't think twice.
Think about how many times we scold or taunt someone who is late, and how many times have we appreciated the punctual? It's like they say, when a goal keeper lets a goal in, he is remembered for that, not all the saves he made before and after that. But to evolve into a happier we should start thinking and being more Mindful about situations. Everyone's bound to make an error sometime or they other, be considerate at such times, and appreciative when they deliver. Let us make a conscious effort to reverse the trends and make appreciation easy to come and criticism difficult.
Appreciation also helps in the person appreciated doing better the next time and improving himself. Appreciation and motivation go hand in hand where appreciation can act as a catalyst for motivation. Consideration instead of criticism can do the same.
Also observed around is a negative mindset when meeting new people and new experiences. Generally the more successful people are the ones who meet new people and experiences with a positive outlook. Why be apprehensive when we know nothing about them? Why not meet them with a positive mind? Why not start by assuming they are good? The start always matters. While you gauge people and situations, start positively and chances are you might end up having a great friend or a great experience. Starting negatively already creates a barrier that prevents any further developments. Break down the barriers, do not judge, n start with an open and positive mind.
Let us together make this change of shifting from negative to positive mind set and a society where we give more appreciation and consideration than silence and criticism.
