The Measure of Success

Our society has always been one that has judged on external factors. No surprise then, that the main (or only) measure of success in our society is the amount of wealth a person has amassed. This seems most superficial. How can money be the only measure?
There are so many other factors to consider. Is not having good health a measure of success? Is not inner peace a measure of success? Are Not good manners a measure of success? Is not giving time to your family n friends a measure of success?
Yes making money is important, especially in today's world but running after materialistic pleasures at the cost of health, time and peace makes not much sense. How can a person who has all the riches in the world be considered successful if he is ill or doesn't have time for family? Is not a person who makes a fair amount of money (not too much excess) but is healthy, peaceful and spending time with family and friends more successful?
At the end of the journey, it's only the memories you have that will make you smile not the money.
Would like to end with a great quote by a great thinker n writer,
"They deem me mad because I will not sell my days for gold; and I deem them mad because they think my days have a price." - Khalil Gibran
